So you are thinking about homeschooling!

When you think about homeschooling realize that;

  • Homeschooling allows our kids to initiate
  • It doesn’t have to be in the curriculum
  • They can have spunk, moxie, fortitude, gumption
  • They don’t have to seek compliance

Homeschooling allows our kids to initiate

By allowing our kids to initiate you might find that you cover topics and subjects not in your curriculum program for the year.

Don’t be afraid to move off topic, because if there is an interest you should go with it you never know what you might learn.

It’s a great idea to have a plan, or scope and sequence, an outline for the year covering all core curricula, each subject: math, science, social studies, and language arts.

For example, if your student is studying life cycles and you watch caterpillars change to butterflies and your student is fascinated with the pollination process, so go with it and read more do some additional research.

Find out what other species pollinates, and just keep going if there is further interest.

You don’t have to stop at the end of the chapter.

It doesn’t have to be in the curriculum; visit a butterfly garden, watch a bee colony, even try making something with fresh honey! SWEET!!!

They can have: Spunk, Moxie, Fortitude, Gumption

Do you have a kid with spunk?

  • Does your son know the name of every dinosaur?
  • Can he tell you all the details of that dinosaur?
  • Do you remember all of the dinosaurs?
  • Can you even pronounce their names?
  • Because I can’t but, my 4 year old can

Consider adding this little gem to your homeschool year.

Lunch with the Slunches welcomes you to the prehistoric adventure of your life! With surprises at every turn, this story combines fun with every threat, thrill and treat along the way.

Each of the twenty-four chapters is followed-up with an original recipe… easy-to-do, good-for-you and yummy! Plus there’s a Matter of Fact page featuring a real animal from the past.

Speed along at your own pace, but watch out for roars and riots. This book is a roller-coaster ride, and you’re seated next to a T. Rex! Buckle up.

Did you read that? Speed along at your own pace….

Enjoy the learning, as your son describes and tells you ALL about each and every dinosaur. Encourage him to keep learning as much as he can about the dinosaurs.

Isn’t his independent thinking incredible? That’s fortitude, he’s got spunk!

They don’t have to seek compliance

You don’t have to seek compliance, you can be flexible. REMEMBER Because you are the teacher, you can be flexible in your homeschool schedule. You know your child, so focus on topics of discussion that he or she shows interest in, each of us is different, find the right niche for your student and they will develop a love for learning.

Enjoy your homeschool endeavor.
