Dear Parents and Educators,
We hope you are adjusting to the “new normal” as best you can, and taking each day and each new challenge one step at a time. We want to let you know that we’ve added more FREE resources to our website for you to help you continue navigating your children’s education.
Cursive Writing Practice (Grades 2–4)
Handwriting helps promote perseverance, as well as activate linked brain regions pertaining to reading (which, by the way, are not activated by typing). Each page in this activity packet is designed to help children learn to correctly form the uppercase and lowercase forms of each letter. They are also user friendly to both right- and left-handed learners.
Paired Passages (Grades 1–8)
These activity packets provide practice with the skills it takes to compare and contrast fiction and nonfiction passages. Each passage is written at grade level with appropriate vocabulary and sentence structure. The passages are tied together with a common theme. The exercises build reading comprehension, help develop skills needed to break down and analyze story elements, and practice in keeping sequence and details from two sources separate. Each section has multiple-choice questions and written response questions.
Reading Comprehension Activities for Science (Grades 1–6)
Use these activity packets to practice and improve reading comprehension while coupled with science instruction. The short, fascinating stories incite curiosity, augment basic science facts and concepts, and introduce a world of ideas. Questions follow each story, and provide practice for finding the main idea as well as specific details. They also provide practice with analogies, deciphering new and unknown vocabulary words, and encourage children to think beyond the facts.
Stay tuned for more free lessons to come. As always, we are still shipping from our distribution center, and are happy to help you with whatever supplies you need during this time.
